Presented by Jamie Meil & Matthew Bowick Athena Sustainable Materials Institute
Wednesday, September 21, 2016 2:00 p.m. - 3: 30 p.m. Eastern Time.
Presentation Outline: In this presentation, Jamie Meil and Matthew Bowick of the Athena Sustainable Materials Institute will provide an overview of the Impact Estimator software and how it can be used to evaluate a metal building system in order to meet the whole-building life-cycle assessment provisions in USGBC LEED version 4, ICC International Green Construction Code and ASHRAE 189.1 green building standard.
The Athena Impact Estimator for Buildings is an LCA-based software package that helps designers easily incorporate environmental information while in the early stages of a project. This whole-building tool is used by design teams to explore the environmental footprint of different material choices and core-and-shell system options. The Impact Estimator provides a cradle-to-grave life cycle inventory for a whole building. The inventory results comprise the flows from and to nature: energy and raw material flows, plus emissions to air, water and land.
1.5 Continuing Education credits will be provided to all attendees.
